Yes, 7 years and almost 2 months later.....finally I have got the courage up to ask Sinead to marry me. Thank God she said YES!
The reaction of most people isn't shock; it's more like "About bloody time for you!!"
Well, it might have taken time but I made it worth the wait. Sinead and I are in the process of buying a house together and I brought her in the direction of furniture shopping...or so she thought!
Sinead had always loved the thought of flying a helicopter, so 2 minutes before we arrived at our "furniture shop" I told her I had lied to her and that we were doing one last splurge before we bought the house and that I wanted to take her on a helicopter flight. She was shocked but still wasn't expecting anything, coz she had waited 7 years (and was probably expecting to wait another 7!!!) But we went on a helicopter tour of Cork City and as we hovered over her family home I asked her to marry me.
I have never been so nervous for the 24 hours beforehand but when she said Yes, the nerves turned into the happiest feeling ever. I've never felt like that before, and it's fantastic. 7 years...and it was so worth the wait.
